An excellent bold majolica art nouveau tile in
brilliant and rare colours. Both celeste and pink were
problematic in firing reacting badly with each other and
indeed on their own should the kiln temperature get just
a little high, the blue tended to bubble and pink
separate into constituents giving a mottled effect and
bleaching of the colour. Both colours were more expensive
both as plain coloured tiles and when combined in
multicolour decorated tiles. These are really great, both
celeste and pink are strong and vibrant with no adverse
reaction where they meet.
Versos very clean, 'C's in opposing corners and
pattern number written in glaze.
