I'm going to call this very good despite the
chip bottom right corner because it's as out of the
way as possible for such a full design and doesn't
interfere. Bottom left corner trimmed for the
original fitting, tiny chip near top left corner.
Surface is perfect and the glazes most
brilliant. Style: Art nouveau This is what tubeline art nouveau tiles are
all about, the boldest of designs, super-rich
colours, fabulous glossy glazes. Highly stylised
floral design with the flowerhead separated from
the foliage, looks like a spacecraft and docking
station, maybe Kirk travelled back in time to
Stoke on Trent 1904. Very well executed, no
glaze spills and a rare tile too, not seen
before by me. Verso very clean, embossed England painted
pattern number.
