This is a very rare example of Wedgwood's patent impressed tiles being gilded as well as stencilled. A slightly abstract floral design crisp and assymmetric pattern with an aesthetic feel in natural, autumn colours with gold leaf applied around the petals and to show the veins on the petals and leaves. The gilding is difficult to capture in the image but when viewed as one normally would, the gold leaf brings the design to life.

Condition: Excellent
Price: £120 ($242)
Ref: 01737

A few very tiny chips to the edges, the corners have been very slightly rounded either in manufacturing or for it's original fitting. There is a little wear to high spots and some wearing of the gilt especially on the dark green leaves. The gilt around the petals being protected from wear is in fine condition and shows really brightly when the tile is seen as normal.

The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
