A stylised floral design having a somewhat gothic feel made with the rarely used Cuerda Seca technique. The technique uses a painted outline but differs from other methods in that the medium for the line was oil rather than water based. The oily line resisted the water based glazes and helped to keep the colours well defined. The outline's profile is usually lower than in tube line decoration indeed the glazes may be thicker than the outline.
Condition: Excellent Minor marks and light rubbing to the dark green glaze where it is has pooled.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
