A beautifully detailed aesthetic period tile with a multitude of elements, scenes of country landscapes, children playing outdoors, a ram, butterflies and flowers with five different stylised floral and geometric borders. A fun and entertaining tile in nice colours the dark brown print showing well against the buff clay body. The inspiration for the design apparently from a variety of souces including the ram from Hope-Crealock and the 'Kate Greenaway' girls probably from Lucien Besche.

Condition: Very good
Price: £115 (approx $230)

Three medium and.half a dozen small edge chips none of which are particularly obvious the larger are more on the edge than the face, other tiny edge chips/roughness. Light scratches which can barely be seen unless the tile is tilted at an angle to the light - it was probably on a hearth. Minor manufacturing imperfections.

The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light. For more details of how we describe marks see Condition.
