Willow Pattern Blue and White Transfer Print Tile
Style/technique: Willow Pattern transfer print Manufacturer: Minton Hollins Dimensions: 6" x 6" Date: circa 1880   The famous willow pattern, ever popular but not so often found on tiles, this example in an uncommon super rich flow blue and on a bright white body with a very brilliant glaze. They were popular for use in trivets and sideboards to complement tableware. Fully marked back as usual for Minton Hollins.
Condition: Excellent Price: £65 (approx $132) Ref: 02062C Top right corner cropped for original fitting, very small chip bottom edge, two tiny chips near bottom right corner, 1/2" of roughness on the bottom. Two pieces of kiln dirty in the glaze, no surface marks. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
