A nice majolica moulded floral design of a group of trumpet shaped flower, perhaps convulvolus or bindweed. In a very rich light mahogany glaze.

The back has the letters KNB boldly impressed in a central reserve of a portculis back with two ground tapering key groves as thought to be used by Godwins when slabbing. KNB are unknown as manufacturers, they were probably ironfounders who had this pattern made for them, perhaps by Wooliscroft

  • Condition: Very good
  • Price: £75 (approx $130)
  • Ref: 02102

Two small stun chips near the middle and near to the top edge, wear/stun mark to the raised flower right in the centre of the tile, a scratch about an inch long pointing towards the bottom right corner, other lesser surface marks. A one inch hairline crack that barely penetrates to the back of the tile, the edges are excellent.

The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light. For more details of how we describe marks see Condition.
