Tube line design of a ribbon and garland of rosebuds. Interesting and unusual black tube line creating a stained glass effect with the leaves and petals. Rich colours and extremely brilliant glazes.

Made by New Marsden Tile Company - Marsden's reorganised in 1909, this kind of loosely art nouveau inspired classical pattern was popular until WWI.

Some light surface scratches, a few tiny chips on the left and bottom edges, a little rubbing where the glaze has pooled near the right corners, other very minor surface marks. The top left corner and dark spot on the bottom edge are manufacturing imperfections. Clean and bright.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
