A super tile from this noted Lancaster and London based bespoke tile decorators painted in four colours in a free aesthetic style. The patterns on the blue parts are incised, the paint was applied as a block colour, allowed to dry and the pattern scraped in rather alike sgraffito decoration.

On a thicker hearth quality tile made by Minton Hollins and bearing their moulded branding with S & H monogram and pattern number stencilled over.

Condition: Good
Price: £85 (approx $170)
Ref: 02441

The tile is clean and bright but it was a hearth tile and the enamels have suffered some wear. There are a few chips on the edges, mostly on the bottom, none are too dramatic. A couple of scratches across the central square and some other wear to the enamels can clearly be seen in the image.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light. For more details of how we describe marks see Condition.

The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. Customers may request a larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format for closer inspection which will be sent by email.
