An exuberant design as we have come to expect from Marsden, a vivacious poppy that fills the tile with wild assymetry. Designed in the years around the turn of the century at the start of the art nouveau period this tile is too naturalistic to be described as pure art nouveau it does however undoubtably show a strong art nouveau characteristics.

Just one noticable chip on the bottom edge and a few other tiny edge chips. The marks just below the top left corner are a glaze miss and spots of orange glaze, both manufacturing faults. Surface condition is near perfect, a clean tile with good brilliance in the glazes.

Just one noticable chip on the top edge and a few other very tiny edge chips and very slight roughness, about half a dozen minute chips to the outline otherwise surface condition is near perfect, a clean tile with good brilliance in the glazes.

The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
