An early lead glaze majolica block coloured picture of a bird with wings outstretched in a super turquoise glaze and within an aesthetic border. A very early majolica design from Corn Bros indicated by the low pattern number and the high raised inner border to separate the colours.

Verso has England embossed which was introduced on tiles late in 1890 in preparation for the introduction of the McKinley Tariff Act enacted on 1st October 1890 and coming in to effect on 1st April 1991.

Wear on the inner borderline below the bird's tail, four tiny/very tiny chips on the left inner borderline, very tight hairline about 2" long from right edge, the edges are perfect and there are just a couple of small areas of light rubbing on the high points.
