An edwardian majolica jewelled tile with a rich persian blue ground, rich burgundy jewels and brown ribbon. As often is the case with jewelled designs this is a fusion of the two most popular styles of the edwardian era art nouveau and classical but the art nouveau is more dominant even the ribbon has a definite art nouveau flow.

Verso has Boote greyhound and laurel badge.

One small patch of scuffing near top dead centre and a few other extremely light surface marks, one small piece of kiln dirty stuck in the glaze. Excellent brilliance in the glazes.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
