Condition Report

Tiny chips left corners, tiny chip top edge, one minute surface chip otherwise surface condition is virtually as new. Perfectly clean and fantastic brilliance in the glazes.

An excellent full design that fills the tile, bold flowerhead, leaves reaching out to the four corners and complex sinuous whiplash stems, all highly stylised yet retaining a naturalistic feel. Excellent design, full yet not overwhelming, stylised but not unfriendly. A very early art nouveau design, it was registered in May 1900.

Plain generic barred verso with lock rings and rubber stamped pattern number and embossed 'registered' indicating this was made before the registration number had been received.

Very small chips right corners, another top edge, three very tiny edge chips, surface condition is as new. Spotlessly clean with fantastic brilliance in the glazes.

The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format and on screen is about the size as it would be in real life at the same distance. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light. For more details of how we describe marks see Condition.
