A good bold design with a large flowerhead, lots of petals, maybe a virulent poppy. Stylised art nouveau influence but still with victorian floral attributes the surrounding leaves having a slightly rococco feel, a precursor design to full blown art nouveau. High relief and good bright colours especially the turquoise flowerhead, the background isn't a typical clear glaze it is opaque 'milk white' - always creamy!

Verso typical with 'C's in two opposing corners and pattern number written in glaze.

Condition: Near perfect
Price: £70 (approx $145)
Ref: #02667

Three minute edge chips, a little very light discolouration in the crazing, minor manufacturing flaws. The surface condition is well worth a mention being perfect apart from one tiny patch of rubbing, quite outstanding for a reasonably well embossed tile.

The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light. For more details of how we describe marks see Condition.
