A super architectural neoclassical panel with mythical beast heads morphing in to foliate forms moulded in high relief and decorated in three colours together with twelve two colour border and corner tiles forming a frame. These tiles were removed from a grocers shop the building dating from 1905 and the tiles apparently original with markings verso appropriate for the period.

The four main 6" x 6" tiles may be bought without the borders for a reduced price if required.

Main tiles: Medium surface chip top right corner of bottom right tile, hairline crack about 2" long from bottom left corner of top left tile. Several other small chips to the edges, small/tiny chips to the moulding and other minor surface marks.

Border tiles: Two chips to the corners of the bottom left border, two scratches on the border/corner tiles, other lesser marks.

Architectural panels are usually marked in some way, this is amongst the better condition panels with little surface wear and relatively insignificant chips. A very clean panel with super brilliance in the glazes.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
