Mintons China Works Blue and White 8" Tile
Style/technique: Arts & Crafts blue and white Manufacturer: Mintons China Works Pattern number: 1562 Dimensions: 8" x 8" Date: circa 1880   Excellent 'arts & crafts movement style' design, interesting in that the form of the layout is of the traditional anthemion or palmette but filled with scrolling flowers and leaves rather than the more stylised source. In a super shade of blue and white. Verso marked and badged Mintons China Works etc.
Condition: Good Price: £55 (approx $113) Ref: #02781 Largish chip bottom left corner, smaller chip bottom right corner, neither stand out too much. Three small edge chips and about a dozen tiny/minute. Surface condition is excellent, a few barely visible very light scratches. Super colour and brilliant glaze. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 570 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Surface marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
