Style/technique: Floral majolica Manufacturer: Unattributed Dimensions: 6" x 6" Date: circa 1908 Colours: 4 A pretty floral tile of rose and ribbon with a little art nouveau and classical influence. The rose centre is like the Mackintosh rose style, the leaves vaguely art nouveau, the ribbon pure classical. Super colours, deep red rose and mauve ribbon. Verso very clean with a little clay loss where adhesive has been removed.
Condition: Excellent Price: £40 (approx $80) Ref: #02812 Very tiny chips to three corners, little glaze losses on the top edge, visible marks are manufacturing flaws, a few very light surface marks near the edges but for the most part perfect. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
