Art Nouveau Majolica Tile
Style/technique: Art nouveau majolica Manufacturer: T & R Boote Dimensions: 6" x 6" Date: circa 1905 Colours: 4 A super art nouveau tile embossed and indented in low relief and with really rich glazes. All natural colours with a super deep green background, olive green and pale green on the flower and the buds and brown stems. A classic layout, other companies made similar designs. Verso quite clean, England embossed, no identifiable marks but can be recognised from the proportions and others in the collection.
Condition: Very fine Price: £90 (approx $185) Ref: #02827 No marks of any note at all, a couple of very tiny chips on the outline of the stems, slight discolouration in the crazing near the right edge, very minor surface marks. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
