An unusual aesthetic tile with an illustration of a native girl paddling a canoe surrounded by branches of wild roses. Printed in blue on an olive drap body a colour combination not often seen and most appealing. One of a series, I can recall seeing maybe four or five differnet scenes and backgrounds.

Verso very clean, apparently unmarked generic bars, the design is reported to have been made by both Mintons and Steele & Wood.

Condition: Very good
Price: £65 (approx $128)
Ref: #02928

A few very tiny chips to the edges, scratches mostly light on the right side mostly lost in the roses. Visible marks are manufacturing flaws, the line in the print right side and the extraneous smudges of white clay.

The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light. For more details of how we describe marks see Condition.
