An excellent art nouveau tile with a pair of stylised poppies. Only three designs with triangles in the corners are known by us, one each from Richards, Barratt and Ollivant, all are uniquely different but of similar layout, they make an interesting group.

Verso perfectly clean, pattern number written in glaze.

Condition: Perfect
Price: £95 (approx $185)
Ref: #02939

Tiny chip right side is a glazed over manufacturing flaw. There's a little matting to the white glaze along the top edge, looks like the tile above slipped in the crank and sucked some of the glaze vapours during firing. Apart from these two manufacturing flaws which are barely visible it would be mint.

The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430 pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format. A larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG format can be forwarded by email if required.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light. For more details of how we describe marks see Condition.
