Condition Report
Chips top corners, another on the top edge, wear
to the bobble centre of the flowerhead, a few other
lesser marks. Perfectly clean and very high
brilliance glaze.

An excellent moulded tile
in the arts and crafts movement style of foliage in
bud weaving around eccentric trellis and with a
stylised flwerhead to the centre. High relief
moulding which is very crisp and sharp, an
excellent example of the technique, high brilliance
olive brown glaze. Possibly quite a bit earlier
than the suggested date, could be early 1870s to
mid 1890s.
A great tile from a less
often found manufacturer, underrated, made super
quality tiles and most we see are transfer prints
so this a quite rare tile. A heavy tile being in
buff clay and a little over half an inch
thick.
Verso very clean, bars and 'E Smith, Coalville'
embossed.
