Condition Report

One very tiny corner chip and a little rubbing on the blue at the centre and petal on the right.

 

An excellent bold majolica art nouveau tile in brilliant and unusual colours, a nice touch of cobalt blue in the flower and dusky pink background. The pink background is a proper pink although not not hue of the bright 'rude' pink that was occasionally used around the same date but definitely pink rather than the pale browns which are close to pink.

Versos very clean, 'C's in opposing corners and pattern number rubber stamped.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
