Condition Report
In excellent condition. No major flaws, wear to
the stamen tips on the left side, a few very
tiny/very light marks, very clean and brilliant
glazes.
|
A nice art nouveau design with a single flower
in a super lavender blue. Bright majolica glazes
and rich colours.
Lea of Tunstall (Lea & Boulton) are an
underrated company, little is known about them,
they even have been described as 'shadowy'. Most
marked tiles we find from them are excellent,
they patented their own unique process(es) and
were one of a handful of companies that produced
gilt and stencilled slip tiles, it is suspected
that they made tiles for some of the major brand
names.
Verso very clean, no marks save for the
pattern number 1176.
