• Style/technique: Art nouveau majolica • Manufacturer: Marsden Tile Co • Dimensions: 6" x 6" • Date: design registered 1906 • Colours: 4	An excellent art nouveau design of the triple tulip variety but which fills the tile more than most of the genre and is reminiscent of arts & crafts 'all over' design. Organic moulding and inspired design, the tile is filled with movement yet it has some restraint, some formality without being staid. Moulded without 'cloisone' outline and designed for single colour glazing. Verso fairly clean (no adhesive residue), no marks save for 'registered'.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
