A four tile panel with a well painted
landscape featuring Loch Leven. The castle on
the island in the loch is where Queen Mary was
imprisoned in 1567. Painted in a good range of
colours and a tasteful emphasis on blue with the
loch, sky and heather covered slopes.
The biscuit is by Lea and Boulton, they may
or may not have been painted by them. Artist
signed, probably Holmes.
In very fine condition, a couple of tiny
corner chips, a little roughness to the very
tips of the edges in places, surface is near
perfect.
