No damage of any note, slight wear to the tips of the edges and the odd minute chip, minor printing flaws. Glaze surface is perfect.

An excellent bold floral design in bright colours, dark brown near black print with super underglaze colours, typical green and yellow well lifted by rich deep pink, almost cerise, and a wonderful orangey brown that captures the glow of autumn leaves.

This design was registered to O'Brien, Thomas & Co, one of just a handful they registered, O'Brien, Thomas & Co were upmarket hardware merchants in London. It appears to have been made for them by The Decorative Art Tile Co or perhaps Elijah Birch using a blank supplied by T & R Boote. A rarely found design and a great one too.

Verso mostly clean just a little grubby, generic bars, printed registration number which is just barely decipherable.

The image is a little oversize rather than cropped close to the edges so that the edges can easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly spotted. Other marks described are usually not visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as one normally sees it and can only be seen with a critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch imperfections in reflected light.
