Brilliant royal blue background, fabulous bright pink flowers, a great green for the leaves and comforting celadon for the body of the wreath, This design was first introduced by Alfred Meakin around 1902-3 although this tile was made by H & R Johnson a couple of decades later. It proved to be a popular design and was done in many colourways although this is the most dramatic I have seen. Johnson took over Meakin in 1907, in 1911 they took over Sherwin & Cotton and occupied their Eastwood tileworks and transferred the former Meakin production there too.
