Perfect condition, super clean and bright. Style/technique: Gothic print &
tint This is a super bold and bright tile painted
in rich colours and brilliantly glazed. A
formation of leaves and flowers (Polyanthus I am
told) in an offset square in the centre with a
gothic style foliate border and further motifs
in the corners. The whole arrangement has a
gothic feel the central flower being in the
manner of a quatrefoil, had A W Pugin lived
longer one could imagine his design sense
creating something similar. Super colours, good underglaze burgundy the
golden brown of the leaves vibrant, that perfect
balance of quality with the nuance of hand
decoration makes a most appealing tile. The
company name is well expressed in this tile for
it truly is a decorative art tile, furthermore
it is in great condition too with nothing to
detract from the brilliance. Verso fairy clean but some rust stain, no
adhesive residue, printed pattern number and
design registration number. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430
pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format and on
screen is about the size as it would be in real
life at the same distance. A larger 120 dpi image
also in maximum quality JPEG format can be
forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than
cropped close to the edges so that the edges can
easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly
spotted. Other marks described are usually not
visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as
one normally sees it and can only be seen with a
critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch
imperfections in reflected light. For more details
of how we describe marks see Condition.
