Two very tiny edge chips, very clean and
bright. This tile is rare for another reason, it has the
marks for Brown, Westhead Moore verso, they have
been filed off to a great extent but are still
visible. Whilst this is guaranteed a Wedgwood tile
it may well be that they bought in the blank and
decorated it or even subcontracted manufacture of
the finished tiles, certainly there are a few noted
anomalies with Wedgwood versos and is an area being
researched. This exact design has been seen with
marks for Webbs of Worcester, it is though they may
have made blanks (or indeed tiles) for both
Wedgwood and BWM. Versos perfectly clean, generic rails, part
printed pattern number on one tile, remnants of
Brown, Westhead Moore etc embossed. Two tiny, one very tiny rim chips, glazed over
manufacturing flaws upper right edge, very clean
and bright. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430
pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format and on
screen is about the size as it would be in real
life at the same distance. A larger 120 dpi image
also in maximum quality JPEG format can be
forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than
cropped close to the edges so that the edges can
easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly
spotted. Other marks described are usually not
visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as
one normally sees it and can only be seen with a
critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch
imperfections in reflected light. For more details
of how we describe marks see Condition.
