Small chip bottom edge, minute chip top left
corner, no surface damage. Superb colouring,
accurate printing, perfect in manufacture, this is
a good tile. Style/technique: Aesthetic/gothic
print This is a great tile, despite being
incompatible with the majority of my personal
collection I am tempted to keep it however one
has to sell. You don't need me to say it is
great for here it is, it speaks for itself. The
design is a typical late victorian mix of
international elements, gothic the strongest
influence, some persian, some japonesque. The
colour is really great, blue and white with
super hues and yet without the blurriness of
flowblue. Unattributed, little idea who, maybe Marsden,
they used simple rail versos. This design also
seen by Campell Tile Co, substantially owned by
Colin Campbell who also owned Mintons Ltd
however this is rather better than typical
Mintons/Campbell quality. Super colours, it's
blue and white but there were hundreds of
variables, really an excellent tile. Verso perfectly clean, plain rails, slight
adhesive residue. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430
pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format, a
larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG
format can be forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than
cropped close to the edges so that the edges can
easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly
spotted. Other marks described are usually not
visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as
one normally sees it and can only be seen with a
critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch
imperfections in reflected light. For more details
of how we describe marks see Condition.
