Tiny chip lower left edge, two minutes chips
bottom left corner either side of a manufacturing
flaw, other marks are manufacturing flaws. Very
slight surface marks which nevertheless is
brilliant and shiny. Style/technique: Art nouveau
majolica This is a super design and a super tile.
Great design, just a little asymmetry, not
enough to be disconcerting but sufficient to
alleviate the conformity of true symmetry. Super
colours too, essentially natural colours but
with rich red and pink, the perfect
blend/compromise of norm and excitement. T &
R Boote Ltd were a prolific and affordable
manufacturer who tended to turn a blind eye to
manufacturing flaws and this has a few but still
a super tile. Verso quite clean, minimal adhesive residue,
Boote badge embossed. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430
pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format, a
larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG
format can be forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than
cropped close to the edges so that the edges can
easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly
spotted. Other marks described are usually not
visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as
one normally sees it and can only be seen with a
critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch
imperfections in reflected light. For more details
of how we describe marks see Condition.
