Probably from a pot stand there is light wear to
the glaze which does not affect the normal view.
Only very minor edge marks the two darker spots
near the top are printing imperfections. Style/technique: Pictorial Print This from my favourite of the animal series
which I much prefer to the popular Wise series
(although his second and very rare block printed
series is great). In this series the animals are
in rather more natural environments and the
artist has designed for tile rather than the
Wise series many of which are adapted from
designs for tableware. Very finely engraved,
superbly printed as one would expect from this
artistic tilemaker and really quite a serious
piece of artwork. Verso perfectly clean, embossed name and
location, printed pattern number. The image is full size at 72 dpi (about 430
pixels wide) in maximum quality JPEG format, a
larger 120 dpi image also in maximum quality JPEG
format can be forwarded by email if required. The image is a little oversize rather than
cropped close to the edges so that the edges can
easily be seen and any chips etc can be quickly
spotted. Other marks described are usually not
visible at all when the tile is viewed straight as
one normally sees it and can only be seen with a
critical eye when the tile is tilted to catch
imperfections in reflected light. For more details
of how we describe marks see Condition.
